Summer Projects!

In other news! I've been so busy posting about vacation, I haven't been able to tell you what Rich and I have been up to! The weekend before Easter, when it was BEAUTIFUL outside, I got one of my summer projects almost completed! This UGLY pile of stuff has been right next to our shop since Rich and I have been married. It started as a cord or 2 of logs, and has year by year, gotten a little smaller, as Rich has cut it up, I've chopped it, and we both load it into the wood shed. This is what it was down to... I had decided a while back that this would be my MAIN summer project! I wanted to get the rest of the wood out of there, burn all the bark and scrap pieces of wood that were laying around, and flatten it out so grass would grow. Saturday morning at around 9, Rich brought the tractor over so I could start splitting the wood. (He and Dad went to Bellingham to shop for parts for the fairlane, so I was on my own!) I stayed outside chopping, and burning until 3:30 that day, and got it almost completely done! Here is the pile of wood I got chopped... Rich even had time to flatten it out with the tractor. Here's what it looked like before we headed to church on Saturday! This week we threw some grass seed out, and now we'll just wait and be patient for growth! Do you notice the other thing that got taken care of while we had the tractor here??? I'll give you a hint... it's something I've posted about before. :-)

My other summer To Do's:
1. Vegetable Garden (got a few seeds started indoors this weekend!)
2. Have Rich build a grape arbor for our new grape vines
3. Have Rich build some flower boxes for the front door area
4. Get a trellis for the Clematis by the mailbox

As you can see, many of my to do's require Rich's help, which means MY to do's are really more coaxing him into doing stuff for me :-) I'll post pictures as I get these other summer to do's complete!
