The Protest

I don't want to hear any of you say I don't try my hardest to get new reading material on here! I worked my booty off today so that I could get everything in the office done, have time to post, and still get out of here by my NEW Friday scheduled leave time of NOON! Yay! I could have posted just about that. I'm SOO looking forward to having 4 hours of typical "work time" to do house work instead! My plan, and I really hope that I stick to it, is to do meal planning on Thursday evenings, and go to work Friday with grocery list in hand, then I can head straight to the grocery store after work, get home, and still have an hour or two of cleaning the house before Rich gets home! So far, I'm still on track, I have my meals planned for the next week (including my Christ group food!) and have my grocery list in hand! Please pray for me that I'll actually be able to stick to that organized schedule, I will NEED it!
Ok, on to more fun (yes, politics is fun to me!) and exciting stuff! As I promised yesterday, I have some Bellingham protest coverage! Let me also say... the Herald said there were 1,500 people protesting... which may or may not be true. We had to sign in when we got there, and the people counting that list, had over 3,000. Yes, yes, people easily could have signed their names twice to try and elevate the number, but I really doubt 1,500 people did that. Also, I think the busiest time was between 5:15 and 5:45 (which makes sense, people coming after work) and the reporter from the Herald said he left the event at 5:00. I'm also still dissapointed about the lack of coverage on the national news, not including Fox News, who may have overdone it a bit, and the disgusting joke of the "tea party" MSNBC turned it into it. But, this seems to be how things are going to be for a while... at least until more people start standing up against it, so I vent to Rich (poor him) and then try and forget about it.
Here is a picture of my mom and I protesting away! And for all of you who missed it, this is the fun you missed out on... (make sure you have the volume on because that's the most exciting part!) There were sooo many people driving through and honking and giving thumbs up with support. I was extremely surprised to see how supportive poeple were, especially in Bellingham. It may even surprise you that in the entire 2 hours, I only saw 3 middle fingers. Don't ask me why those few people WANT high taxes and out of control spending, we'll just have to wonder together.
