Cash and I are healing just fine. The vet gave Cash some antibiotics because he was pretty swollen and she was worried about infection. The trick is getting him to eat them! You'd think they'd make them peanut butter flavored or something?? While he was at the vet he got his regular booster shots that he was due for and did soo good! He just sat there with his head in my lap as the doc poked him with needles. The vet said everything else about him looked great, other than he could probably gain a few pounds... hmm... he must get that from his parents too! Ok ok, I realize I talk about him like he's my child, and I know he's only a dog, and most of you have actual children, and you're probably thinking... how annoying that she talks about her dog like a child... but he's all I've got for now, so you're going to just have to live through it with me :-).
On to my healing... the throbbing is gone! Hallelujah! I've learned something though... with open wounds there is throbbing... lose the throbbing... gain a scab! I'm quite positive if you saw me today, you would say, "what happened to your nose?!?!" At least I have a good story to tell though, right? For all of you dieing to know just how silly I look.. I will let you see..

I'm happy to see that in this self portrait, it really doesn't look that bad! In the mirror it looks MUCH worse! Hopefully I'm just being dilusional when I look in the mirror! :-)_
On to other fun stuff... I took this picture while I was trying to figure out the table settings for the dinner we made for Rick and Beth. I of course forgot to bring my camera to their house (although we did take pictures with other cameras) but you can get an idea from this what the dinner table looked like.

I had three boquets of these lillies on the table. One big yellow one in the middle, and two smaller ones on each end. They are from my yard and smell SOO good! You're also thinking fancy napkins too, huh? Yeah, those are paper towells... note to self, it would be worth while to buy some cloth napkins! Plus a great way to cut down on garbage!
The last exciting thing is this...

Yay! My early hybrid tomato plant has started pumping out the tomatoes so we've been eating pico de gallo like crazy!!! Mmm... that and corn on the cob are my favorite things about having a garden! What do I put in my pico you ask?? Well, I will share with you...
- tomatoes
- onions
- yellow bell peppers
- cilantro
- diced jalepenos
- garlic
- squeeze of lemon
- sqeeze of lime
- salt
- pepper
I don't measure anything... it's all just to taste (which by the way, I HATE when recipe says... to taste.. as if I have ANY idea where to even begin.. and what if you "taste" it, and know it's missing 'something' but add too much of the wrong thing... well then you've just ruined the whole meal/batch. I am not a "to taste" recipe gal. So in that spirit, I'll try to go into greater detail about my pico. Let's say I have about 7 small to medium size tomatoes... I use probably half a medium size onion. Ok, I love the onion, so I use a lot! I like my tomato/onion to be about half and half. I use 1/4 to 1/2 of a bell pepper (mostly just because it's fun and adds another color!) I totally don't measure the cilantro, how would you? I just put enough to make it visually noticable (see picture above). I'm a wimp, so I only add about 1-1/2 TBSP of jalepenos. I clove of garlic. 1 lemon (not aggressively squeezed, the whole thing is not needed). 2 limes (same squeeze as the lemon) and honestly, as much as I hate to say it, you can do the salt and pepper to taste. If you feel it's kind of blah... add a little more of each. I do maybe 5 shakes (out of the table dispenser) of each. Let me know if you think I'm missing anything amazing in my recipe!

The pico de gallo sounds awesome! I love the fresh stuff! I bet the table was beautiful - you're a great daughter in law and I know Beth appreciates you!!
