You ever have one of those nights that just doesn't seem to end??? Here's the story...
Everything started out just great. We spent the evening over at Rick and Beth's house for their 32nd wedding anniversary! Congrats to them!!! What a wonderful example they are to us. Tyson, with our help, made them a delicious dinner including a balsamic green bean and asparagus green salad, manicotti, cornish game hen, and the most delicious warm chocolate melting cake for dessert! My favorite!!! It was a wonderful time and I HOPE, exactly what Rick and Beth were looking for. When we got home we set up our bedding out on the deck (we've been sleeping out there all week because it's SO much cooler! As we were laying on our air mattress we a breeze was picking up, but NOT a cool breeze! It started to get descently windy, but the wind was hot. It felt like we were sitting in a room with a fan on, having the same hot air blow over and over us. BUT, it still felt better than it did in the house!
This is where it all goes down hill... The wind blew over the gate we had to keep Cash up on the deck with us. He had been laying right next to us at the head of our air mattress, that is, until the gate slammed to the deck, which freaked him out, causing him to instantly jump into our bed... with his front paw landing directly onto my nose! It felt like it was gushing blood, minus the wet feeling because, of course, it wasn't. I don't get bloody noses... I've had one in my life, and it wasn't from getting hit, it just all of a sudden decided to bleed one day. I still had to go check it out in the mirror and of course, no internal injuries, only external! He must have gotten me with his claw, no nail, what do dogs have?? anyway, whatever it is that you have to clip! Somehow the skin on both sides of my nose got disfigured! One side was bleeding, and the other side was just scratched up. Ok, ok, it's not terrible... if you saw me, you might not even notice, actually you probably would, but it's not bad enough that you'd ask me what happened I don't think. So even though it doesn't look life threatening, it is SOO sensitive!! It's got that throbbing thing going on... like I know every time my heart beats because I can feel it in my nose... but I'm sure it'll heal... and I won't need reconstructive surgery to get past it. Oh, and I completely forgive Cash, the poor innocent little guy was just scared, of course he wants to jump into his mama's lap! On to more blood... not too long later, maybe a half an hour... we're woken up by some barking out in the field (remember, the wind blew the gate over so there was no keeping Cash up on the deck) Rich is like insta jumper, if he were a super hero, that's what he'd be. He was on his feet with his flash light shining out into the field by the time I had figured out where I was. He yells.. "Cash, come here!" and then says to me (I'm now finally on my feet trying to figure out what's going on) "stay back honey". What??? Seriously?? Am I in danger?? I go to my safety spot (halfway in the house, halfway out, ready to shut the door in an instants time as I hear lots of gravel being moved and then something running VERY fast up the stairs. I'm sorta freaking out because Rich is standing at the top of the stairs, but remember, he has a flashlight so he knows it's only Cash (would've been nice if he had clued me in!) Anyway, turns out Cash had an altercation with some coyotes, 3 to be exact. Now I know my dog well enough to know that he was definitely the innocent victim in this altercation! He was likely dinking around, minding his own business when he saw some animals that looked like his cousin Jersey (she's half coyote) Who wouldn't want to play, right?? I'm sure he ran up to them and was like "hey guys! this is cool that you came to my house, weird that you came in the middle of the night, but whatever!" Then suddenly he realized these were NOT friends!! They bit at him and got him right in the little tush. Poor thing has a few battle wounds and as I'm writing this I'm thinking how I need to hurry up and finish it so I can go pick him up to take him to the vet. We get Cash all situated and locked up in the shop, and at this point I say... "I've had enough for one night, I'm sleeping in the house!" I brought all of our sleeping stuff downstairs to the living room to spend the rest of the night there. Why didn't we just sleep in our bed where everything was already set up you may wonder?? Because it was hot! and I can't sleep when I'm hot or I have terrible nightmares... this week alone, even sleeping outside where it was a little cooler... I was held at knife point in one dream and shot in another, which lead to a trip to the hospital in an ambulance which was pretty cool. Both by family members I might add!! Mandi... you were the shooter and I'm still a little upset by it! :-) Anyway, you might think that's pretty bad... but it's fairly normal for me, I wasn't even scared when I woke up after either of those! Usually I am! Ok, it's now 10:01 and I have to pick up Cash still and get him to the vet by 10:30... I've got to end this novel!

oh my goodness. quite the night you had. Poor Cash!! and well done Rich for saving your bride. Nice work!! :)
When I saw the title of your post, I thought you'd meant "bloody hot" night, but no, it really was just bloody! You'll have to let us know how the trip to the vet went.
Sounds like you're all broken in for kids now!!! Cash is doing a great job! Sounds like Rich is ready to get up in the middle of the night too - perfect!
