Pretty bad picture but can you tell what it is!?!? My new library card!!! My kids are going to love me! I'm 25 with no kids and I have a library card!! And I admit it! Anyhoo... here's how it all came about. I finished that amazing book of mine, Atlas Shrugged (if you don't know about it... check out my "book reviews" section to the right, yeah, that's new too, cool huh??) Alright, back to the topic... since I finished my book, I headed to amazon.com to purchase some more books on my "to read" list. Of course, they have that spend $50 and get free shipping deal... so I decide, alright, I'll just order a bunch of the books I want to read. Well... I have no problem getting to the $50 even with the used books prices, but then I think, wait a minute, I thought Rich and I were trying to save money to put toward our mortgage?? Trying to get to $50 doesn't sound like saving to me (well technically it is because I'd be saving on the shipping, but I know Rich won't buy that!) and spending $4 to ship a $7 book just sounds insane to me... That's where I had the lightbulb moment! As much as I love to stockpile great books, I thought of the library! It gets better folks! I checked out the situation online at www.wcls.org and oh man! It's like Netflix but free (sidenote: you also have to wait WAY longer and go pick them up instead of get them in your mailbox) (oh, other sidenote, totally NOT free, because I pay plenty for it with my tax dollars, so we'll say... "prepaid and the money disapears if you don't use the service") So, I've got one book already waiting for me today at the Everson library and I've got a nice little saved list of the other 5 books that I really want to read, plus, I even am on the waiting list for a few movies! How great is that?? Ok, this is the point that if I were reading your blog... I'd say... yeah that's all good and fun, but I'm totally not going to drive all the way to the library to pick up books and movies. Seriously, that is the type of person I am... there is nothing more annoying to me than an inconvenient stop. Like the grocery store, or getting gas. Drives me nuts! BUT... this isn't an issue with the library because it practically shares a parking lot with the bank, which I have to go to at least once a week already! It's like it was meant to be! Now I just have to hope WECU or the library never move, I don't know what I'd do then!

My kids are gonna love me!
Yesterday was a pretty exciting day for me... After work I headed into Everson, first to the bank, then to get THIS:

I LOVE our local library!! We load up--maybe 20 books each kid--while we're there. And sometimes a movie here or there. We have an online deal too, and this post just reminded me that I need to log on there! HAVE FUN WITH YOUR NEW CARD!!
