Friday was a baby shower for my friend Amber and her new baby Jermaine (see previous post). It was a great shower thrown by her friend Tara. As Amber was opening gifts, I was sitting chuckling with another friend... she was opening nike outfits, Jordan booties... we imagined our showers would be very different... less sports related, more carhartt, baby romeos, maybe some suspenders?? :-)
Rich spent the weekend camping down at the river with some friends, so I spent Friday evening alone, at our house, all night. I only freaked myself out once, and actually got a pretty good sleep. I think I'm growing out of my "scared to be home alone" stage! Saturday Rich came home for a while so we could get some stuff done around the house (a few steps closer to getting the flagpole garden complete!)
In the evening, he went back to his camping, and I met up with some girlfriends to hit up the bull-a-rama. I will admit, I think I only watched 1 bull rider and the wild cow milking, but I had a very successful night of socializing! I love seeing people that I haven't seen in years! I even got to chat with someone I hadn't seen since high school! That's 6 years folks! Wow, 6 years, crazy!
Sunday is when the flu kicked in. Apparently an aggressive little bug was out and about at the baby shower, and came home with about half of us. I spent most of Sunday sleeping on the couch, then finally "went to bed" at 6 and took some tylenol PM to kick the fever. By Monday my fever was gone but my energy had been zapped. After sleeping 16 hours, I was awake, but with no energy to do anything. Now I know what that dang cable TV was good for!!! I would have paid the $50 monthly fee just to have the TV for yesterday! I watched a couple of movies, but watching the same movies you've already seen a dozen times gets very old!
The good news is... I finished the latest book I've been reading, Atlas Shrugged! What an amazing book!! Stay tuned for my review of it... you may not want to read it, but you at least have to know my thoughts on it!

I don't think I could even LIFT that book. Wil kept plugging away at it....can't wait to hear both of your opinions. Make it detailed so I won't have to read it! ;)
