Busy Busy Busy

Wow, I'm hoping this week goes slow so I can recover from a busy 4 day weekend! Here's a quick run down of our adventures!

Wednesday night Rich and I went to yoga (yes, in Everson) and then to bed early so I could get up and make pies in the morning!

Thursday afternoon was spent with Rich's side of the family. It was my duty to make dessert, so of course I made yummy pumpkin pie and took a stab at apple pie for the first time. Don't they look good??

see the cute apple crust :-)

Thursday evening was a get together for my grandma's 85th birthday, so my cousins from Eastern Washington were here with their families. We don't see them near enough, so it was so great to catch up and see how much all the kids had grown! After the get together, the girls went over to my mom's house to do even more catching up, kid free! We were terrible and didn't take any pictures, but I do have a picture from when we got together with them last year, so I'll let you all see that!

We were all at mom's gabbing until 12:30. I can't believe my mom stayed up that late! My sister Tami and I decided that since stores were opening in Bellingham in 3-1/2 hours, we might as well make it an all nighter and go!

Friday starts at 12:30am then. After much discussion of my two favorite topics, politics and religion, we watched a little tv, took a 15 minute snoozer, and headed to Bellingham! This was my first year partaking in Black Friday... and I can see why it's "black" Friday... cause each time you leave a store, expecting it to be light out, it's still dark! We were at JC Penny's at 4:01 and people were already coming out of the store! Maybe they were just there for the free snow globes?? Oh wait, I've got to back up... I was laughing the whole way to Bellingham becaues I couldn't believe how much traffice I was seeing! And not only was there a lot of traffic, people were passing eachother! Which actually sucked me right in and made me want to beat everyone else there! So back to JC Penny, my sister got the $38 luggage set she wanted and some towells, I got a cute turtleneck that was only $8, and then we had to waste time until the other stores opened at 5. (there was no going to Kohls, it looked way too busy for us!) We next found ourselves at Fred Meyer just a few minutes before 5. There was a line outside so we sat in our car with the heat until everyone got into the store. I got some 50% off socks and my sister picked up a few things too! Then we made it to Charlotte Reusse for 30% off the entire store, Circuit City for $2.99 DVDs, Home Depot for a poinsettia, and home by 8:30ish. Apparently as soon as you are not in college anymore, your body/mind aren't able to pull off all nighters, so I had to head to bed! When Rich got home from work we headed over to his parents house for dinner to spend more time with Tyson while he was home for Thanksgiving. After dinner and some Phase 10, Kari and Tyson came over to watch a movie and I finally called it quits and gave up trying to stay awake at 1:00am.

The danger in going to Rich's parents house is, Rich spends too much time on Craigs List, which brings us to Saturday. Rich found a jeep that he wanted to look at down in Lake Stevens, so while he was waiting for the guy to call back, we went and got our Christmas tree. Of course, the guy called Rich back right when we found the perfect tree, and Rich is fairly long winded, so I ended up cutting down the tree! I will post pictures when I'm done decorating it! We got home, put it in water, showered, and headed south to check out the jeep. Rich justified it to me by convincing me he needs 4 wheel drive, a back seat for when we have kids, and I'll enjoy driving it in the summer with the top off... so here's our newest addition... ...anyone looking to buy a ford ranger???
Sunday we had Thanksgiving with my side of the family. I brought pumpkin pie (of course) and corn. When we got home, I started addressing our Christmas cards and then headed to bed!
Here's to hoping this week is slow and boring!

Love the post Angela! I was in that Kohl's line... it wasn't too bad as long as you got what you wanted and got right in line. I even made it to Walmart by 5! Can't wait to see pics of the tree too. Tell Rich congrats on his new baby for us!

whew- you make me tired!! I did the ol' black Friday thing when I was younger - but now I'm old enough to say "no way"!! The pies look yummy - are they better than pumpkin bars?

Josh is going to be SO jealous. VERY CUTE pie crust, by the way!!!

I love the "convincing" that needed to be done....Josh does that SAME thing. He always plays the "when the kids are with me" card. Ahhh men.

Yeah, it definately won't be user friendly, but the ranger wasn't even really possible, so it's a step up for us!
