Book Review: Epicenter

Title: Epicenter: Why the Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your Future
Author: Joel C. Rosenberg
My Rating: ***** (yes, that's 5 stars!)

A quickie overview:
Three months before September 11, 2001, Rosenberg completed the first three chapters of THE LAST JIHAD, which opens with radical Islamic terrorists hijacking a jet plane. To his surprise, reporters began calling his work "eerily prophetic."While the news media will connect political information with economic data for their stories, Rosenberg believes that the Bible is the key to understanding the significance of global events and trends. This book is based on Ezekiel 36-38, The War of Gog and Magog. Predictions are made of what we will see happening in the Middle East, based on the prophecy, such as Israel will discover massive reserves of oil and gas, treaties and international agreements will give Israel greater security than ever before, and a czar-like regime will rise in Russia. He also discusses what has gone on and what is going on that relates to these predictions. You will gain insight into current world events and begin to understand how to use what Rosenberg calls the "third lens" of Scripture.

My thoughts: I loved this book! I couldn't put it down. Honestly, when I found it, my initial thought was, politics and religion in one book!?!? What more could I ask for!?!? It definately brought on a deeper interest in world news for me, and of course the dealings in the Middle East. It's also amazing to see how much of that prophecy is already playing out. The great thing is, Joel Rosenberg also has a blog that he is constantly updating so we can stay up to date on how the prophecy is playing out, without too much personal homework. He links articles that he finds from around the world that back up his predictions based on the prophecy in Ezekiel.
