I know I've been slacking on my book reviews! That's because I've been reading lots and lots of books about counseling, and trust me, they're not THAT interesting! I got Sarah Palin's book for Christmas and decided I just couldn't wait any longer to read it, so it became my "downstairs" book and the counseling one I was reading was my "upstairs" book. (See my review of Sarah P's book below). Sunday was my first Sunday in a long time where we had nothing planned, and I didn't have pressure to work on 'another counseling question'. Boy was that a nice feeling! The free day allowed me to: finish 'Going Rogue', finish the counseling book I was reading, bake some banana bread, take a nap, watch a movie with Rich, pay bills, and get my tax paperwork together for the accountant!
Not sure whether I'll have time to post for the next couple of days as I'll be down in Olympia fighting for small business at the capital! And in my free time having girl time with Dena who is letting me stay at their house! Until then, have a nice spring. Oh wait, it's still January isn't it??
Oops... one more thought I wanted to share. A while back in one of my book reviews I had read a book on Christian theology. The book was so so on the subject, but since then I have found the book of all books on systematic theology! Our pastor gifted it to me when I started doing my NANC exam and it has SO much information and at the same time is pretty easy read! If you want to study the subject, or just want a book on your shelf to refer to when someone asks a question like, "what do Christians believe about demons?" get Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology! Seriously, it's packed full with answers to almost every question you can think of and has great Scripture references and application questions to ponder.
I'll leave you with this last thought, which I got from Rich due to a debate on calvenism vs armeneism, and he got from Pastor Craig. If you're feeling like, 'Oh, I'm just happy knowing what I know about God and will love Him with the info I know. All that information just makes things more confusing anyway.' Ponder this for a moment... would you ever say to your spouse... "I don't really want to know more information about you, I'll just love you with the information I already have"? That was enough for me to decide that continuous study of our loving Lord was the only option for me, and I hope it is for you too!
