Practice Makes Perfect

It's funny the statement 'practice makes perfect' doesn't exactly give you the full picture. How much practice are we talking about??? I'm guessing, with my new camera, A LOT is the answer! But, I've been having lots of fun practicing at least! I had a mini session with my mother in law (who is a photographer if you didn't already know) and also found an online tutorial, which has helped a lot! I've been doing a new lesson every few days... so far I've worked on white balance, learned to keep my ISO as low as possible depending on the light, and have just begun working with aperture. I have already figured out that aperture is not a one sitting lesson. Once I get a descent grasp of it, I'm thinking it's going to take lots and lots of practice to master. Here are a few of the pictures I've taken so far... keep in mind, I haven't had very many subjects volunteer to be models! Rich had his middle finger up in the last picture I took of him (total butt head huh??), so I've resorted to Cash, who was a fantastic model, and the flowers around the house!

Just a cute one to show offAs a total side note... I used to be able to click on a picture once I had downloaded it, selected cut, and then pasted it where I wanted it to be in the blog... and for some reason my computer won't let me select cut anymore... Does anyone have any tricks for moving the pictures around on the blog?? These pictures are in no particular order because it takes way too long to drag them around.
