Weekend with the McGee's

Rich and I had a great weekend with Matt and Kim out near Port Angeles. Matt's parents have a little trailer there on some land that has an AMAZING view of the water and Vancouver Island. We headed down.. over...down/over on Thursday evening, had some Hurphy's burgers for dinner, and arrived to their property around midnight. Friday we went to Crescent Lake with the boat. We found a little private beach and soaked up the sun. (Not sure what Rich is doing in this picture)The boys were busy trying to surf the wake behind the boat, which I don't think was much of a success. Friday night we headed down the road so we could watch the sun set... too bad we somehow missed it in this picture :-) Did I mention this was NOT a warm adventure! Brrr.. makes me cold thinking about then wind!Saturday we headed to Sique to do some fishing, but didn't even get poles wet due to some VERY rough water and a lack of life jackets. (I know what you're thinking... but my guess is you would have been wearing life jackets too! We actually debated taking them off for the picture... but are hoping you all are nice enough to just not make fun!)We decided the time spent fishing wouldn't be worth a ticket for lack of P.F.D.'s (apparently the new "cool" term) or me throwing up, dramamine and all. The hour or so in the boat was still surprisingly enjoyable, so we decided to stick with the boat theme and head back to the lake. Kim and I got dropped off at our same little beach from Friday while Matt and Rich went trolling around the lake. They say they caught one... but we were not there to witness it, soo...???? In addition to our lake and ocean adventures, we played 3 rousing games of Settlers of Catan (YAY! People that like to play that game as much as we do!) Kim won all 3 games. Psh. Cheater. J/K.. she brought a new strategy to the game that obviously works! We also watched a few movies and plenty of Seinfeld episodes for me for one weekend! (I'm the only non fan of the 4 of us). It was a great RELAXING weekend (did I mention there's a hot tub too!?!?), with perfect weather, and LOTS of laughing! Thanks so much Matt and Kim for inviting us along! We can't wait to do it again!
In other news... if you see Rich in the next couple of days... make sure to console him... he is back to work on Tuesday.
