Relay for Life

June feels like it's been/is being such a busy month!! Possibly because we have had and do have something significant EVERY weekend!
This last weekend was Lynden's Relay for Life. I always love being there and getting to see people I haven't seen in FAR too long!! My aunt Karen and good friend from high school Tina being 2 of my favorites that I got to do a little catch up with this year!! It did end up raining on us for about an hour... but we had a tent thingy set up... so we snuggled under there until the clouds blew over, and spent the rest of the night comfy and dry! This year I didn't walk NEAR as much as I did last year... but Kari and I put in a good hour walk at around 2am to wake us up and warm us up... which worked fantastically! We had a very small team this year (only 9 members) so we fell short of our fundraising goal, but were still able to raise $1,638 for the American Cancer Society!! Good job Kari for being our top fundraiser and raising $571.40! Also, a big thanks to Kaylene for hooking us up with the Begonia Baskets!! They were a huge hit and made fundraising much more fun!!
Friday is my sister's wedding reception (the one that got married in St. Thomas in March) so this week is filled with getting ready for that (including some fantastic speech writing by my other sister and I) Please, please, please Lord give us sunshine as we'll be outside at Evergreen Gardens!!
In other news... we got our flag pole and flag up with lights and all!! It has yet to be landscaped, but I will do my best to get you pictures of the flag anyway! I know what I want to do for the landscaping... but haven't been able to talk Rich into spending "that" much money on a couple of trees :-). If it were parts for the fairlane for that price... it'd be a heck of a deal... for trees... not so much! I'm still working on him!!

funny how that works, huh? Josh is the SAME way. We seem to not be able to afford "stuff like that" but man those tools sure look nice out in the garage!
