Hi all! Physically, I am back from Indiana, mentally, I might still be somewhere around Montana??? :-) It was a GREAT trip filled with so much Biblical information!! So much information that I think I'm still trying to hold on to that the simple things here seem to be harder for me to accomplish?!?! Honestly though, another year of coming back from Indiana more on fire for God, with a stronger grasp on His Word, and feeling more prepared to help others by teaching them about our great and mighty God! The thing that really convicted me this year is my reaction to struggles, even simple ones like Rich not sending off the credit card bill while I was gone like I asked :-). Don't tell him I told you that! I am often quick to get angry, make a snooty comment, or when times are really tough, turn on the TV to drown out my problems or go to sleep to forget about them. What I am working on doing is showing Christ's love no matter the situation, and when times are really tough, instead of turning to the TV or sleep, opening my Bible instead. Which seems obvious since God is a much better problem solver than the TV, and yet it's still a tempation. My favorite quote from the conference was, "A good counselor is first a good counselee", so I do my best to come home from the trip a changed person. Who wouldn't be after a whole week of being counseled?
I should also take a minute to thank Pastor Ken, Karen, Jen & Hayley for keeping my mind busy and not sulking about being away from Rich for a week! Along with everyone else who was on the trip who made it a blast... we have some pretty crazy/silly people in our church... I won't mention names (Craig & Debbie) who like to sing songs that were popular 'before my time' and one of them (Debbie) may have even stood on a chair in the lobby singing a Donnie and Marie song.
In other relevant news... I received my paper back and have 2 rewrites and 3 little fixes to make for regrading. I didn't think that was too bad out of 50! It seems I'll be counseling in no time!
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
