36 Week Update

Today I had my 36 week checkup so I thought I'd let you in on my "progress". I am dilated to a 1 and 50-70% effaced. It sounds cool I know, but I should inform you that it isn't anything significant if it's compared with how the gals in my family normally progress. My mom and sisters all did the same thing... walked around dilated to a 1 or 2 for a month! My mom so kindly informed me today that she remembers standing in the doctors office, dilated to a 5, and was still not in labor. The positive side of it all - being like my mom and sisters ain't such a bad thing - they all had pretty quick labors! I'll be visiting the doctor every week for here on out... so I'll be sure to update you on any more progress!

Oh, baby girl is also head down and, as the doctor said, 'engaged'. She is low, low, low (which explains the painful cramping I'd had a few days ago).
