Exhausted

After 2 weeks of constant 'going', I'm exhausted, and my body is confirming my need for rest! This nasty whatever I have (cold I guess), came at perfect timing though. I've been telling everyone, "I just have to get through Sunday evening, and then my schedule is completely open!" Well, last night, while at Rob and Aimee's reception, around 8pm, I noticed, ouch, it really hurts to swallow. Thank you Lord, for holding this off!

For those wondering, Rob and Aimee's reception was wonderful! It consisted of great food, lots of kids, family from E. Wash, some dancing, and even an impromptu speech by yours truley. I realized that if I weren't such a fantastic bookkeeper (it's ok to compliment yourself, especially when you're sick, right?) I could totally be a wedding coordinator! I had so much fun running around like a crazy person getting/keeping everything organized and making sure the reception went just as Rob and Aimee wanted it. Of course there were glitches, the candles got too hot in the vases causing one to burst, leaving a beautiful pile of water, glass and decoration in a heap in the middle of the table, possible miscommunication with the catering company left food not ready when we had planned for it, but all in all, everyone still had a great time! What's a wedding without glitches anyway? What stories would you have to remember if everything went perfectly!?!?

Since I've barely blogged lately, here's what's kept me running at 100 mph:
  • My adorable nephew who has needed lots of 'auntie time'
  • We moved grandma into The Willows Retirement Home so have been trying to visit lots to make adjusting easier
  • April birthdays (lots in the Strotz family)
  • Family of 6 spending the weekend at our house for the reception (and hoping having 4 kids in the house didn't burn Rich out to the idea of having our own someday!)
  • and of course the other normal day to day stuff and misc stuff that came up

I've decided to just rest (other than my normal workday) until I get over this bug I have... but as soon as I'm done, these are the things I have to look forward to:

  • Getting the condo rented out (we decided to take it off the market since the condo market is basically dead)
  • Cleaning up one of our rental houses for it to go on the market (I haven't been there yet so I have NO idea how much work this will entail, but I'm not planning on an easy task!)
  • Getting grandma's house (the house next to the office) cleaned up and fixed up in order to rent out
  • Lots of work on the yard around grandma's house to make it easier to keep up. This will also be quite a bit of work since she hasn't been keeping the flower beds up herself for the last year or two.
  • And of course I hope to get a garden planted at home this year too!

Looking at this list makes me think I'm due for a vacation again! What do you think??
