quote of the day

So last night, as I'm typing away working on my NANC exam, Rich is laying at the other end of the couch reading his bible... I notice that he's still holding his bible up but his eyes are closed... so I make some comment about his sleeping/reading abilities, and he says, "It's really hard to read when all of a sudden words like Chick Fillet end up in there". It gave me a good laugh... hopefully you too!

In other news... if you've been curious how my NANC exam is going... well, it's still going! I was pretty excited to get another question completed last night, only to realize I still have 38 to go. It's going much slower than I had hoped, but I have learned SO much through this study. I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to being done with the exam, but I'm even more excited about getting to apply what I've learned to help people in their time of need! That's definitely what keeps me going! So my goal is to be done with the exam before I head to Lafayette for Track 2, that gives me 17 weeks, which means I have to complete 2.23 answers per week. Up to this point I have been averaging 1-2 per week, so I need to pick it up! Right here, right now, I'm going to set a goal for myself to complete 3 per week (what's better than finishing early???) I've done my 3 for this week already, so maybe Saturday I'll get a head start on next week's three! I'm counting on all of you to hold me accountable, alright??

And in even better news!!! Rich and I are going to be auntie and uncle again!!!! I've been waiting for my sister to blog about it, so as not to spoil her thunder, but yesterday she gave me the ok to go ahead and spill the beans!! We're super excited for Matt and Mandi and look forward to supporting them through this wonderful experience!!! Mandi is 13 weeks along and due April 14 (Rich is hoping for a late baby born on his birthday :-). Although we won't find out until December what they're having, I've got my money on a girl! I've already started calling her by her girl name :-) It'll take some serious adjusting for me if it turns out there's a little boy in there, but I of course will love him just as much. Oh, and if you're thinking that's who I posted about earlier... it's not, my friend Tina is also pregnant and due April 10th! All these new babies, how will I resist!?!? :-)
