Things I've learned in the last month...

  • Gagging, dry heaving, and throwing up during pregnancy cannot be controlled by 'mind over matter'. Trust me, I've tried.
  • It turns out there is a reason people don't wear 'cute tight clothes' to show off their growing belly... the reason being, comfort suddenly matters more than cuteness.
  • The stylish tops at my very favorite second hand store serve very well as maternity tops and they cost less than $10! Thank you current style trend!
  • Mac and cheese is delicious! I had forgotten, but I've since restocked my cupboards!
  • I may never like pizza or ranch dressing again... that would be sooo sad.
  • If I'm going to throw up or dry heave, it's a million times better to do it while Rich is in hearing distance... I get so much sympathy!
  • I find belly bands to be the BEST invention! Huge money saver since I can't button my pants anymore, but technically they still 'fit'.
  • Last, but not least, and certainly less regarding pregnancy... 25 is the year that you flip flop. Every year previous, I looked forward to being that 1 year older on my birthday. No part of me is excited about turning 26 tomorrow. I may just tell people I'm 25 for as long as possible... at least until age 40.

That's how I'm feeling about turning 45 - just sounds to scary close to 50. I mean - in the bookkeeping world you would round 45 up - not down!! Hope you get over the yukkies soon! And yes Rich - you SHOULD give her tons of sympathy!!
