Still recovering...

from "one of those days".

Rich and I decided to go on a spontaneous camping trip this last weekend. We decided Friday evening that we'd head out Saturday morning to the Colonial Creek campground on Diablo Lake for just one night. My thought was, if I want to be fun and spontaneous when I have kids, a good time to start practicing would be while I'm pregnant :). We loved loved loved the campsites there! It was a hot day and yet the campsites are nice and shady. You can pick a spot on the lake that is much closer to other campsites, or go back off the lake into nice little secluded campsites. We got to the campsite around 1:00 on Saturday, got camp set up and had the boat in the lake by 2. That lake is FRIGID cold, so not reccomended for swimming (although there were lots of kids not caring about the temperature of the water!) but it was perfect for Rich to troll around in and me to lay out. We took the boat out of the water around 5, did the rest of the normal camping stuff, went to bed, and were on the road headed for home around 10:30 on Sunday. It was the perfect little trip for the two of us! You should also know... I was a good girl, and took pictures! I even uploaded them onto my computer (at the same time deleting them from my camera). The only problem is, they are now nowhere to be found on my computer :(. So, if you will, imagine with me... a picture of Rich getting the boat set up with Diablo Lake in the background... a picture of our little campfire with our baked potatoes and chili cooking up on the campfire grill... and just for proof that I was there also, a picture of me in the tent sleeping in the morning while Rich prepared breakfast :). Losing the pictures just added to yesterday being "one of those days". The kind of day where I may have been more successful just staying in bed all day. But here's to having a better day today!
